About Me

Hello, my name is Jacqueline Thompson-Tadrowski and I’m a writer from Scotland. I live by the seaside with my husband and daughter.

My poems have appeared in New Writing Scotland, Gutter, The Scotsman, Poetry Ireland Review, New Writing Dundee, Dundee Writes, The InkwellIn On The Tide (Appletree Writers Press), For A’ That: A Celebration of Burns (Dundee University Press), Double Bill (Red Squirrel Press), From Arthur’s Seat (Egg Box Publishing), and Scotia Extremis (Luath Press).

I won the Neil Gunn Writing Competition 2017 (Adult Poetry), and have been shortlisted for the Grierson Verse Prize 2013, the Westport Arts Festival Poetry Prize 2016, the Melita Hume Poetry Prize 2016 and 2017, the Jane Martin Poetry Prize 2017, and the Cinammon Press Debut Poetry Collection Prize 2018. I’ve written reviews and articles for The Scotsman, The Scottish Review of BooksThe Glasgow Review of Books, The LiterateurThe Bottle ImpFringebiscuitThe SkinnyThe Student, The Independent, The Culture Trip, The French Film Festival UK, and the James Tait Black Awards. In 2016-17 I was chosen as an ‘Emerging Critic’ by The Scottish Review of Books and Creative Scotland.

Having studied English Lit for many a moon, I emerged with a PhD from The University of Edinburgh and an MA (Hons) 1st Class and MLitt (Distinction) from the University of Dundee.
